Ranjani Ma’am taught me Physics for my entry into the much-coveted, state-level, professional B.Tech course.  Ma’am was the one who suggested that I should join a particular junior college after I completed my 10th. In competitive exams, more than mugging or speed, conceptual understanding has to be strong. Ma’am worked on strengthening our concepts in every area. She assesses a student’s weak areas and works on eliminating those difficulties. With madam’s effective guidance at every step, I secured a good rank and am presently pursuing my BTech in JNTUH, one of the premier Universities in India. Throughout this journey, ma’am has been, not just my teacher, but also my guide, mentor and preceptor. I take this opportunity to thank ma’am for everything.

Intermediate and JEE Physics

Ma’am always taught me how to look at things in a wider perspective, in a much logical and a practical way. Mastering the basics is what the main foundation of anything in life is and Intermediate physics is no exception. She nurtured me in a way where my foundation has been strong since then and has been, ever since. She’s always had a conceptual approach where understanding the general consequences of various laws and theory, to various situations, is the key. She helped me understand how important mathematics is, to physics and always proved everything in a linear, simple, yet a beautiful way. She has been the best teacher I’ve been a student of and I’m proud of it. She’s been just like a mother, has taught me not just how to be conceptually strong, but also to be emotionally strong, to face various phases of life, be it exams or challenges.

I know Ms.Padma Ranjani as the Physics teacher in our school SCI Mat Academy in Chennai way back in 1990 when I entered 11th Std. Even though it was only a couple of years since Ms.Padma had joined our school as the Physics teacher, we heard a lot great feedback from our seniors about her expertise in the subject and her way of teaching. We were eagerly looking forward to attending her classes. When we experienced her first session, true to what we heard, we were amazed at her unique way of teaching Physics. To learn the core subjects, especially Physics, one needs to have a strong conceptual foundation of the principles along with an expertise in application of those concepts in solving real-time problems. In Ms.Padma, we found the perfect teacher who can not only make us understand the concepts but also train us in thinking out-of-the-box solutions for complex problems through practical examples. More importantly, she had the knack of making every student ‘fall in love’ with physics, even those who are average or frightened about the subject. 

Apart from being an expert teacher, she is also a great human being, down-to-earth, caring and often goes out of her way to help the students. When I was studying for my 12th Std exams, I had challenges studying at my home and when I expressed it to her, she readily asked me to come to her home and study. She would even give me mock test papers to write and practice for my exam. A teacher can be expert in their subject and articulate in explaining the concepts, but what sets Ms.Padma apart from all others is her care and attention to every individual student, not only in their academics but also shaping their personality. I have witnessed many such students who were on the verge of being distracted into bad ways, were brought back by Ms.Padma by her individual care and attention. She always gave us the freedom to express ourselves, even our personal challenges and gave solutions just like a friend. 25 years after we passed out of our school when I got back in touch with her and went to meet her, she was the very same Padma Madam caring and loving, and to my amazement, she remembered every single student in every batch!

In this age of social media, smart phones and rapidly deteriorating cultural ethics in the society, there is a strong need for capable, patient and noble-hearted teachers like Ms.Padma to uplift the younger generation.

Every single student in those 4 years in SCIMA who had the fortune of studying under her is in awe and reverence of her and proudly say that what we are today is because of Ms.Padma Ranjani. She captured all our hearts ‘physically’ in just 4 years working in our school! 

My dream was to get into a premium institution to pursue my B.Tech and here IITs provide the best education but the entrance exam is one of the toughest exams a student could take. It had a variety of questions and patterns and a subject cut off too. I found Physics very difficult at the start as we all know there’s a huge difference between the subject we learn in school and the one we get exposed to in college. So I started approaching a few physics teachers who can help me out in the same and so I met Ranjani ma’am. 

Initially we started with the very basics of the subject, and later on we started doing the advanced topics. She used to give handwritten quiz papers after the completion of every topic, and taught me the strategy to prepare and attempt questions. She is very good at communicating and her constructive feedback did help me. I do remember our 15 min chats we used to have before the class starts and it all felt so homely and comfortable. We used to discuss not only about the subject but also many more things about the entrances, scientific theories and her experiences in her career. 

I would definitely say that not all teachers could take out time from their personal lives to talk and motivate their students. She is definitely very supportive, friendly and understanding and has a unique teaching style. She used to constantly motivate me to try out new things , to learn and to explore and give my best shot at whatever I do. One of her best qualities is that she does not only encourage her students to study but also give them the courage to be mentally strong and physically fit.

From my personal experience, she is one of the best teachers I have ever met and learnt so much from. Thank you ma’am for everything you have done, I would have not been in the place I am right now without your guidance and motivation.

You are the best physics lecturer. You make the most difficult topics look simple and instil confidence in students. You have motivated and guided me in times of need. Thank you so much for all the support and motivation.

Joining physics tuition was the best decision I made. Ma’am helped me understand all the concepts with personal care. She always explained the concepts with practical examples, that we observe day to day which made physics very interesting, physics was not just another subject but something much more than that.
